Three new agricultural connected objects to discover
As more farmers turn to precision agriculture, Sollio Agriculture is expanding its offering of digital solutions and agricultural connected objects.
Surveys in Western Canada and Québec show that more than half of farmers are using digital solutions, and this percentage is increasing every year. The use of data in agriculture will therefore play a major role in the management of future farms.
Sollio Agriculture’s connected objects
In recent years, Sollio Agriculture has tested and marketed several cutting-edge connected objects, including:
Weather stations
These are tools that provide farmers with weather data specific to their fields and, therefore, much more accurate predictions. Weather stations supported by agronomic models make it much easier to make the right decisions at the right time.
Soil probes
These connected objects improve soil moisture content and temperature monitoring. Combined with weather stations, soil probes allow farmers to optimize irrigation management.
Smart insect traps
By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, these smart traps detect, recognize, and quantify the insects present in fields. They can be used with crop- screening tools to help farmers and advisors determine the necessary actions more quickly, resulting in more efficient screening and fewer losses for field crop and vegetable production.
These connected objects help farmers make the right decisions at the right time to be more profitable and to reduce the environmental impact of agricultural practices.
These tools help farmers and agri-advisors work more effectively.
Sollio Agriculture and METOS Canada
In the last few years, innovative projects in Sollio Agriculture’s partner networks have led to test out many connected objects.
Sollio Agriculture has partnered with METOS Canada to create an agricultural IoT (agricultural connected objects) framework agreement to expand the range of technological tools available to farmers.
By joining forces, Sollio Agriculture and METOS Canada are able to offer farmers this new suite of technological solutions.
