The new AgConnexion | Grain Portal Toolbox
The new AgConnexion | Grain Portal Toolbox gives farmers quick access to market trends and prices.
In the Grain Information Toolbox, you’ll find the "Market zone and prices that are associated with the farm" and "Flash Marché". These two tools help grain farmers make decisions and facilitate contact with Sollio & Grains Québec’s regional grain merchants.
The Market zone and prices associated with the farm
The "Market zone and prices that are associated with the farm" allows you to view and locate the grain centres in your area on an interactive map of Québec. You can then determine the prices at which you can sell your grain in your area.
It’s an easy-to-use tool that will help you make the best decisions quickly.
Flash Marché
Did you know that Sollio Agriculture regularly publishes a press release on changes in commodity prices based on market conditions? It’s called Flash Marché, and you can now read it directly in the AgConnexion | Grain Portal Toolbox.
Flash Marché includes a table that shows the price of corn, beans, soybean meal, wheat, pork, certain fertilizers, natural gas and propane, as well as the S&P 500 and S&P/TSX stock market indices.
Flash Marché also provides an analysis of recent market trends, which are often linked to reports from the United States Department of Agriculture.
The market is influenced by a wide range of global factors, and Flash Marché presents a big-picture view of that influence. For example, favourable weather in a particular part of the world (the United States, South America or elsewhere) may have a positive impact, while the risk of a recession in the United States may have a negative impact and exert further pressure on prices.
The price of a barrel of oil, which fluctuates according to the decisions of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, is also regularly covered in Flash Marché, as are any increases or decreases in the key interest rate of the United States Federal Reserve (often called the Fed).
The AgConnexion | Grain Portal Toolbox will continue to change, and new tools will be added over time. Any time retailers decide to share a tool, this is a secure place to make it available at all times.
Stay in touch at any time
AgConnexion | Grain Portal is a direct link where farmers and grain merchants can build and strengthen their business relationships. Farmers can select a topic or issue that interests them and ask to be contacted by a member of the Sollio & Grains Québec team. Grain merchants then follow up with farmers by email or phone.
