Optimized calf growth with Goliath products

Feeding calves with a milk replacer optimizes their growth from the first weeks of life and allows them to reach their full genetic potential.

Different protein to fat ratios allow you to adjust the desired growth type, whether you have a tall heifer or a calf ready to be weaned.

Sollio Agriculture milk replacers are formulated with skim milk powder and contain sources of fast-releasing (carbohydrates) and slow-releasing energy (oils and fats).

The importance of good management

For best results, Goliath milk replacers should be used according to best practices.

First two weeks of life

• Ensure a clean environment.

• Ventilate while preventing drafts.

• Set the ambient temperature above 13°C or use calf blankets.

• Give 3 to 4 litres of colostrum at 22% Brix within the first two hours.

• After three days of colostrum, gradually increase the amount of milk replacer to reach 8 litres per day as soon as possible.

   

Last two weeks before weaning

• Continue providing fresh starter feed every day.

• At 42 days, reduce the milk replacer to 6 litres per day.

• During the last week, switch to one meal per day.

• Twin the calves to encourage consumption of calf feed and facilitate weaning.

• Wean calves only when they are consuming at least 1 kg of calf feed per day.
