Replacement pullet feed program

Natur-aile feeds provide essential nutrients to prepare pullets for egg production. They are formulated for pullets aged one day to 20 weeks.

The Natur-aile replacement pullet feed program consists of two feeds:

• Natur-aile début-croissance unique – provide as sole feed to pullets aged one day to seven weeks (49 days).

• Natur-aile croissance-finition unique from 7 to 20 weeks – provide as sole feed to pullets aged seven to 13 weeks (50 to 91 days).

   

Natur-aile feed consumption

Twenty-week-old Leghorn pullets should weigh between 1.4 and 1.5 kg (3.1 and 3.3 lb.). Brown layers will weigh more at 1.6 to 1.9 kg (3.5 and 4.2 lb.). Weight varies by breed.

A 20-week-old pullet will consume an estimated 6.5 to 7.8 kg of feed. Plan for approximately:

• 1.5 to 1.8 kg (3 to 4 lb.) of Natur-aile début-croissance unique feed per bird

• 5 to 6 kg (11 to 13.2 lb.) of Natur-aile croissance-finition unique feed per bird

   

Offer your birds poultry grit twice a week in a small feeder. The size of the grits to use depends on the size of your birds. Grit is essential for good digestion and is available at your local cooperative.

Avoid overfeeding your pullets. Birds that are too big can have issues during the laying cycle. Also avoid underfeeding them, otherwise they will not lay much.
