Sollio Agriculture team: Meet Paulo Freyle
Originally from Colombia and living in Quebec for the past 16 years, Paulo Freyle brings 28 years of experience in the poultry production industry. As a Breeding Farm Manager, Livestock Production, at Sollio Agriculture, he is passionate about supporting field teams and achieving results that make a difference, both for flock performance and for employee well-being and success.
Question: What does a Breeding Farm Manager, Livestock Production, actually do?
Answer: I work directly with teams in the field to help them achieve production objectives. My role involves analyzing flock performance, recommending improvements, and ensuring employees have the support they need to succeed.
Question: Do you have an accomplishment that you’re particularly proud of?
Answer: My greatest accomplishment is having adapted to a new culture, both personally and professionally. Building a life in Quebec and pursuing my career successfully are a great source of pride for me.
Question: What motivates you in your career at Sollio Agriculture?
Answer: I feel that people enjoy working with me. Knowing that I can contribute to their success and support their professional development is extremely motivating.
Question: Which company value inspires you the most?
Answer: The cooperative model. This is the first time I have worked for a company built on this vision. I appreciate the fact that we all work together toward a common goal. Everyone contributes to our collective success and is part of something bigger than themselves.
Question: Continuing with some rapid-fire questions. What’s something about you that might surprise people?
Answer: Through my work, I’ve had the opportunity to experience a variety of cultural environments. These experiences have allowed me to discover new perspectives and have greatly enriched me on a personal level.
Question: How would your best friend describe you?
Answer: As someone who is funny and always has a good story or a humorous anecdote to share.
Question: If you could do another job for a day, what would it be?
Answer: I would be the technical director of a soccer team and attend the FIFA World Cup.
Question: If you could listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Answer: I wouldn’t be able to choose just one song! Music is so rich and diverse. I believe there’s a song for every moment in life.
Question: What’s your dream travel destination?
Answer: The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia. It’s a unique place where mountains, the sea, diverse cultures, rich cuisine, and several Indigenous communities all come together within the same region.
Question: Who’s your most inspiring colleague?
Answer: I’ve worked with many inspiring people throughout my career. I try to learn the best from each of them. To me, what matters most is doing your job well while enjoying what you do.
Question: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Answer: Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
Question: What advice would you give new employees starting out at Sollio Agriculture?
Answer: Lean on the experience of the people around you and never hesitate to ask for help. The best results always come from teamwork.
