Sollio Agriculture acquires Couvoir Côté
In partnership with five cooperatives in the Sollio Cooperative Group network, Sollio Agriculture is officially announcing the finalization of its transaction with Groupe Réal Côté. The acquired Ange-Gardien facilities—a hatchery and an incubator farm—will continue to be operated separately under the Couvoir Côté banner.
Couvoir Côté has built a strong reputation in the poultry industry over the past six decades. Equipped with cutting-edge facilities, specifically a hatchery, built in 2018, with an annual production capacity of 20 million chicks, the company will also benefit from a strong team that will remain in place following the transaction. The partners made this purchase with the aim of continuing to serve the hatchery’s clients by offering them quality products and the attentive service they expect.
The shareholders of Groupe Réal Côté have reaffirmed their satisfaction with the finalized transaction. “Above all, we would like to thank our clients and assure them that we know that the company is in good hands,” said Réjean, Christine and France Côté, whose parents founded the company. “Having always been involved in poultry production ourselves, we knew that Sollio Agriculture’s and the cooperatives’ desire to serve farmers and contribute to their prosperity was in line with our values. Looking ahead, we believe that this decision will be in the best interest of our clients and our employees.”
