2019 Dairy Performance Gala: 16 farms acknowledged for their achievements
On October 19, Sollio Agriculture rewarded 16 of its highest performing dairy producers in Québec and eastern Ontario at the prestigious Synchro Supérieur event attended by 300 participants and held at Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel. Among all the dairy producer members of Sollio Agriculture, only 16 were selected for the Club des 300.
“The efforts, diligence and energy that dairy producers invest every day in modernizing facilities, improving farming methods and increasing herd productivity contribute to our food safety and to the vitality of our regions,” said Sébastien Léveillé, CEO of Sollio Agriculture. “We are proud to support our local dairy industry and help it perform and continue producing milk consumed here.”
Sollio Agriculture uses the Breed Class Average (BCA) to assess producers’ performance. This formula takes into account average kilograms of milk, proteins and fat produced per herd. This value serves to express milk yield and allows easy comparison of dairy production from one farm to another. As the name states, the Club des 300 is made up of farms whose BCA is more than 300.
